Strength TogetHER 27 - Session 2

May 13, 2022

There is only one happiness in this life, to love and to be loved.

LOKOPAKAR is an organization working for youth development and social change. It has various ongoing programs and Strength togetHER is one of them.

Strength togetHER is a virtual as well as a physical safe platform for girls, which allow them to share their thoughts, ideas  and stories in any particular topic, teaching them to love and value themself as well as help to see things from different perspectives.

With the main motive of growing and healing together, on the day of May 13 2022, Friday,  we gathered at around 4 PM in the evening via the zoom app and with the active participation of 15 girls, everyone was excited to talk about their little happiness. And the session went so well till 5:30 PM.

We were able to have such a lovely and interactive session because of our  energetic and supportive moderator  Miss Prastuti Bhattarai. She is an undergraduate student of Thames international college and also a co-founder of Lokopakar organization. I, the coordinator of cohort 27, Puja Bishwakarma, would like to thank Prastuti didi for creating a suitable environment to share our stories and managing her time and making our second session a success.

As we all are always busy chasing huge achievements, we realized we never  have time to think about those small things that give us happiness, so everyone was so excited to share about their little happiness, 9 of our participants shared about their  happiness.

Our first speaker shared about  her really small happiness like nature, those sunset, sunrise, and that perfect round full moon, flowers and trees by the side of the road. She added when someone asks her out for grabbing some lunch or snacks and when her loved ones praise her.

Most of the happiness of our second and third speaker was similar with our first speaker, but one of them added that she love to spend time alone in peace which really help her for self reflection and next one added whenever the internet works well, she really feel happy and obviously whenever she sees her parents feeling so proud on her.

Our fourth speaker was so into music and art, these two make her feel really happy and she also sometimes loved her alone time and her little group of school friends who always supported her.

Our fifth speaker added that besides nature, she gets excited and happy when she is in her home with parents, also loves a lot when someone compliments her, not to forget her happiness when she gets chocolate and goes exploring new places.

With almost many similarities in the reason for happiness, our sixth speaker added that she really gets happy seeing birds that make her remember her old memories with old school friends.

Our seventh speaker really loves to dance, and around her cat and dog she gets so happy. She also shared her story of dancing with all getting really excited.

Our eighth speaker also added that she gets really joyful dancing and singing, gloomy weather before rain also gives her a lot of happiness and whenever she sees her parents smiling because of her.

Our ninth speaker shared that her happiness is hidden inside the happiness of her family and beside family music is something that really makes her happy and forget about every sad moment.

After hearing from all the speakers our moderator added up about her little happiness as well. We were there sharing the most common thighs that make us happy. She also added we have to be grateful for our small moments, find happiness even in normal times instead of finding our happiness behind huge achievements and success only. She also asked us to build a habit of noting down the happy moments of a day before going to bed and we should also take a break from this rush life sometime

In the process of increasing our bond with every cohort member, sessions provided a warm and healthy environment within our participants and built a lot of new bonds and friendships. Before ending our second session a participant sang a song making everyone amazed with her voice.

By the end of our session we took a group screenshot  and wrapped up our session by 5:30 in the evening.
